tom holland

Marvel unleashed 22 more new character posters for ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and fans have noticed that certain things about Tom Holland’s character’s um… physical assets may be a bit off.

First, on the positive side of things, fans are appreciative of both Chris Evans’ Captain America and Sebastian Stan‘s Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier/White Wolf’s dramatic shot-from-behind poses, which show off their all-American assets.  (Cap wins, by the way.)

Look with 22 character to show off in their own solo posters, you have to get kind of creative with poses just to keep them fresh.  And actually, Chris Hemsworth is posed in the same manner as Thor, but Thor wears a cape which maintains his modesty a bit more.

But it’s the poster featuring Tom Holland that is causing a stir online.  Even though Holland is over 21, his character, Peter Parker, a.k.a. Spider-Man a.k.a. Iron Spider is a teenager.  This may have been the reason why his…er … physique appears to have been airbrushed to Ken doll proportions.

Here are a few online posts from fans who seem concerned over this matter:

This was followed by another post of the ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ cover story from Entertainment Weekly last year:

Another fan posted a clip from Holland’s appearance on ‘Lip Sync Battle’, on which he performed Rihanna’s ‘Umbrella’ in drag.  Perhaps he learned a few drag tips while appearing on the show?:

If you needed a closer inspection:

And finally, they might have airbrushed the character poster, but some of Holland’s completely legal attributes can’t be glossed over:

Yes it’s completely silly, but with all the negativity on the internet, sometimes something this goofy is a welcome reprieve.  What do you think?  Was Holland airbrushed or is the suit simply designed to downplay Holland’s manly qualities because he is depicting an underage character?
