We have a new piece of casting news for the next season of ‘American Horror Story’ to share as creator Ryan Murphy is bringing Joan Collins (‘Dynasty,’ ‘The Royals’) to the series! While known more for her work in a certain soap opera, she has appeared in a slew of 70s horror hits including such films as ‘Dark Places,’ ‘I Don’t Want to Be Born’ and ‘Empire of the Ants’ as well! Now, she’s returning to the genre we love for a mysterious role in FX’s ongoing horror anthology series.
It doesn’t sound like she’ll be one of the leading roles in the series as Murphy has previously stated that “Kathy and Sarah Paulson have a lot of great stuff to get to do. So, with Evan Peters, the three of them are the leads this year.”
Murphy said that he’d be “throwing in” the actress into the mix and is “interested” in seeing if Anjelica Huston (‘Trollhunters,’ ‘The Royal Tenenbaums’) would be interested in joining as well. Huston also has an interesting film history including ‘The Addams Family’ movies as well as ‘The Witches’ in the 90s.
We still have no idea as to what the upcoming series will be about, but we do know that the network has trademarked ‘American Horror Story: Radioactive.’ Murphy has mentioned that it will take place in the near future and this could mean we’ll be seeing the fallout from a nuclear strike or war though it is unclear as to what will happen when the series drops. Another comment also had him saying that Paulson will have to wear “dental appliances” which could mean anything from fangs to braces, or a contraption straight out of the ‘Saw’ franchise.
Are you excited that Joan Collins is joining the cast of ‘American Horror Story’? Do you hope that Anjelica Huston could make it in as well? Share your thoughts below!
