While Bucky Barnes is a trained fighter of the highest caliber he seems an unlikely hero for ‘Avengers: Infinity War‘ with the brainwashing that was shown in ‘Captain America: Civil War.’

Sebastian Stan had proven he can pull off every aspect of The Winter Soldier but to get him back into the fight some changes are going to need to be made. After all, Captain America’s team really have to end up asking themselves how can you trust a hero who can easily be manipulated into doing the enemy’s bidding by a key phrase? Thankfully, the cure for what ails him will be found in Wakanda. While it is unclear if this cure will be featured in ‘Black Panther,’ it looks like the recently released ‘Infinity War: Prelude’ #1 tackles that and more.

The scene that teases the answer can be found right here:

Throughout the issue, we find out that Bucky does end up almost cured by the time it closes and the scientist who saves him also takes a potshot at Tony Stark’s intelligence while she gives T’Challa an update on Bucky’s status.

While this may cure The Winter Soldier’s ability to be used by foreign governments, it is unlikely to ease the tension which he and Tony Stark have over one another about having to share Captain America as their best friend. Oh, and that whole ordeal about Barnes having killed Stark’s parents while being used as an assassin.

I’m eager to see what secrets the second issue in this series will give us when it is released.

Are you glad to hear that Bucky Barnes will be fully back to his self, at least mentally, when ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ kicks off? Do you think that we’ll get a hint of this scene in the end credits to ‘Black Panther’? Share your thoughts below True Believers!

The second and final installment of the ‘Infinity War: Prelude’ comic is set to hit shelves on Feb. 28.
