First introduced in ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ and reprising her role in ‘Captain America: Civil War‘, Emily VanCamp was the awesomely strange love interest choice for Steve Rogers. This ex-S.H.I.E.L.D. turned CIA agent femme fatale is the perfect match for Captain America. Just like in the retconned version of the comics, we see Sharon as Rogers’ true love Peggy Carter’s great-niece.
I’m sure that didn’t make it at all awkward for Rogers to have such a strong attraction to the Carter family.
However, will we see these two rekindle their blooming romance in any of the upcoming films? At this time neither VanCamp nor Marvel Studios have stated that she has a role in ‘Avengers: Infinity War‘ or the still untitled ‘Avengers 4‘.
However, when asked at the Television Critics Association press tour she did state that:
“Marvel can call at any minute.”
That does seem to indicate that they haven’t as of yet. While Marvel Studios is very secretive, Sharon’s inclusion in either film could be being held back as a surprise, though it seems hard to imagine that this would be a cameo anyone would want to keep under wrap.
With no knowledge if Chris Evans will be even in the Marvel Cinematic Universe past the Phase Three or if Captain America will survive the events of ‘Avengers 4.’ it feels that time for a chance of these two ever sharing more than a kiss is quickly running out.
