avengers

The entire cast and crew of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been quiet as what might happen in ‘Avengers 4‘ and no one has been talking about what will lie beyond that and into Phase 4. It is quite feasible that much of the actors and those responsible behind the camera haven’t even been informed yet just to stop any leaks before they can start, but Kevin Feige has delivered a hint at where we could see the future of the MCU, though he delivers the news rather cryptically.

So what could happen after the curtain drops in ‘Avengers 4’ and where could Earth’s Mightiest Heroes find themselves in the future?

“If the Avengers survive, we will see more films with them in space.”

With the original Avengers all having their contracts coming to an end, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see a few of them ready to bow out of their roles with some spectacular deaths saving not only the Earth but the galaxy from the ambitions of the Mad Titan Thanos.

‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ finally gave us an example that death can not only happen in the MCU but that it can be lasting unlike Agent Coulson and meaningful. With there being a high probability that Chris Evans will be out as Captain America and Sebastian Stan’s Winter Soldier taking his place with how many movies he still has under contract as well as Robert Downey Jr. also looking to leave his armor behind, this could very well be a turning point for the heroes.

Let’s face it, going to space could feel like a natural fit for Hulk and Thor but not everyone would feasibly make sense to be off planet. Also, Captain Marvel has likely been fighting a war off planet since the 90s unless she has been stuck in stasis so will also likely end up returning to that fight as it is doubtful Carol Danvers will get a chance to enjoy some quality time on Earth again.

Rumors have Marvel Studios with over 20 movies planned out with Phase 4 and beyond so there is a solid idea for them to run with. It is just too soon to even guess at it with the events surrounding ‘Avengers: Infinity War‘ and the still untitled ‘Avengers 4’ looming over everything else.

Of course, it also seems unlikely that some of our Avengers such as Spider-Man who is more of a street level hero, Doctor Strange who is meant to protect the Earth, and Black Panther who is the ruler of Wakanda would be leaving our planet behind for long by choice.

Which Avengers do you think will survive and head into space starting in Phase 4 for the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Do you think we’ll still have Avengers on Earth but just the group films in space or will we see more major crossovers as was done in ‘Captain America: Civil War’?
