We’re the one weekly column right here on ScienceFiction.com where we seek out all of the awesome news you need to know about any announcements and cool happenings in the toy industry and put them all in one easy to find place for you! We’re midway through the holiday season and the year’s end is coming up fast! Luckily there’s lots of cool new stuff already being revealed for release early next year to tide us over as the cold comes along! We’ve got awesome new items for fans of ‘Star Wars’, ‘Justice League’, ‘The Walking Dead’, and more in the toy news for the week of December 12th, 2017!
DC Multiverse Is Ready For A Mudslide
Thanks to some new preorder listings at PaulmartStore, we’ve got some new up-close images of the new Series 7 of Mattel’s DC Multiverse line! The wave is comprised of a number of fan favorites, like DC Rebirth Superman, Batwoman, Jessica Cruz Green Lantern, DC Rebirth Two-Face, and Martian Manhunter from DC TV’s ‘Supergirl’! Each figure comes with a collect-and-connect piece to build your own massive Clayface figure! 
Aside from one live-action hero with Martian Manhunter, this wave looks to be made entirely of comic book style characters; a nice change up from the last few waves that were mostly based around the ‘Wonder Woman’ and ‘Justice League’ film adaptations. It’s worth noting that Clayface was previously advertised as having alternative mace-hand attachments that no longer appear to be shown here. This is leading to speculation that we may see these extra parts packaged with a retailer exclusive no long after this release (much like how the ToysRUs exclusive Damian Wayne Robin included an alternative King Shark head).
Marvel Animated Continues
Diamond Select Toys has got a new prescription heading to Walgreens and it’s just what the doctor ordered; more Marvel Animated Minimates! The new Series 8 of DST’s Walgreens exclusive Marvel Animated Minimates is set to hit stores in April 2018, with the new wave including four new Minimate 2-packs including Spider-Gwen with The Jackal, Stealth Suit Spider-Man with Screwball, Madame Masque with Black Panther, and The Wasp with Modok! Be sure to keep an eye out for these next spring!
The Bat Of Gotham And The Walker Of Skys
The team at Hot Toys aren’t shy about bringing fans their favorite characters from Hollywood’s biggest blockbuster films, so it’s a safe bet that no one is surprised to see them announce two new figures from some of the biggest films of the year; ‘Justice League’ and ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’!
From ‘Justice League’, we’re getting an all-new 1:6th scale Batman figure that comes packed with a number of alternative hands, interchangeable lower jaw’s for his cowl (allowing for alternate facial expressions), an unmasked Bruce Wayne head (which sports an uncanny likeness to Ben Affleck!), Batarangs, a grapple gun, a Parademon rifle, and a special display stand! The Flash Speeds Into New Scale
We know a number of you collect 1:6th scale, and that 1:12 scale has been blowing up in popularity over the last few years, but check out what Star Ace Toys is doing with their new 1:8th scale! Sized approximately 9″ in height (smack dab in between the 6″ and 12″ of the aforementioned scales), Star Ace Toys is launching their new line of figures with the titular hero from CW’s ‘The Flash’ television series! This figure is based on the characters look from Season 2 and includes a fabric outfit with interchangeable hands, lightning and tornado swirl effects, an unmasked Barry Allen head, and a special figure stand! The first in Star Ace’s DC TV Real Master Series of 1/8 scale collectible action figures is The Flash from the CW television show. The Flash TV series has soared in popularity all around the world and has been at the forefront of many other DC superheroes coming to television. With the perfect balance of realism with a compact size, the 1:8 scale Master Series delivers a collectible that is easily displayed and affordable.
This 1/8 scale collectible figure comes with two heads; one with the Flash cowl on, and one of the unmasked Barry Allen. Translucent lightning bolts can be attached to the figure to simulate the character running through the speed force. Dead POP! Walking
AMC’s zombie drama ‘The Walking Dead’ may have just aired its mid-season finale, so of course, it’s about time for Funko to unveil a new wave of POP! Vinyls based on the most recent episodes of the show! The new wave is expected to hit stores this February and includes Ezekiel, Richard, Negan (updated and clean shaved!), Eugene, and Sasha! Plus you can look forward to special retailer exclusives like Walker Sasha (Funko Shop) and Prison Suit Daryl (FYE) when these hit the market early next year. 
Spring Specialty Series Surprises
Each month, Funko releases two new items in their small retailer exclusive ‘Specialty Series’ of collectibles that are only available at smaller local shops, and this spring they’ve got some fantastic new items coming our way! From the critically acclaimed fan-favorite comic book series ‘Saga’ comes a new Funko POP! Vinyl of Alana with Baby Hazel! Plus we’re getting an all new Rock Candy figure of Capable from ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’! These are set to hit the market this spring.
