Trick or Treat? Luckily for you, it looks like a treat with an all-new Toy News Tuesday! We’re the one weekly column right here on ScienceFiction.com where we seek out all of the awesome news you need to know about any announcements and cool happenings in the toy industry and put them all in one easy to find place for you! It’s Halloween and we’ve certainly managed to scare up some awesome new collectibles this week! We’ve got a number of new products from our friends at Diamond Select Toys, McFarlane Toys, Super7, and more! We hope you haven’t filled up on too much candy, or else you might be scared of some of the spooktacular new items in the toy news for the week of October 31st, 2017!
Rise Of The Vinimates!
Our good friends at Diamond Select Toys have been killing it with new releases the last few months, but one of their biggest stand out successes has been the launch of their new Vinimates line! DST’s new Vinimates line combines the highly popular idea of 4″ vinyl figures with the stylized look of their fan favorite Minimates line, and give us the best of both worlds in an all-new line of vinyl collectibles! While a few waves have hit already, Diamond Select Toys has released a large solicitation with details on a number of new DC Comics Vinimates including retailer exclusives and more we can look forward to in the coming months! The Vinimates figure line has been taking the world by storm, with dozens of licenses making the jump into the 4-inch vinyl figure format. Inspired by Minimates mini-figures, the block-shaped posed figures have already captured the worlds of the Watchmen movie and the cinematic incarnation of Wonder Woman, and now they are capturing the world of DC Comics, television and video games!
The first series of DC Comics Vinimates is in stores now, with Batman and Harley Quinn at comic shops, Walgreens and Toys”R”Us, with exclusive figures at all locations. Walgreens has an exclusive Black Lantern Hal Jordan figure, while comic shops and Toys”R”Us will get Green Lantern Hal Jordan. Additionally, Toys”R”Us will get exclusive Vinimates of Blackfire and Flashback Starfire from the Cartoon Network series Teen Titans Go!
Series 2 brings Superman, Wonder Woman and the Joker, which will be available at all locations. Exclusively at Walgreens, the Black Lantern series will continue with Black Lantern Batman, while Toys”R”Us will get an exclusive Vinimate of Nibor, the reverse-Robin from Teen Titans Go!
In between Series 1 and Series 2, all locations will get Vinimates based on the Justice League movie. Series 1, which hits comic shops November 2, will include Batman, Wonder Woman and an exclusive figure of the Flash. At Walgreens, Batman and Wonder Woman will ship with an exclusive Battle-Damaged Batman figure.
Series 2 of Justice League Vinimates will include Superman, Cyborg, and Aquaman, available at comic shops and Toys”R”Us. Toys”R”Us will also offer Batman with those figures.
Future releases will include sets of Vinimates based on the Flash TV series, the Supergirl TV series and the Arkham Asylum video game.

New ‘Marvel’ and ‘Star Wars’ Sneak Peeks From Hasbro!
The team at Hasbro has spent the last few years knocking it out of the park with both their ‘Marvel Legends’ and ‘Star Wars: The Black Series’ 6″ scale toylines! Both lines are fan favorites, and it isn’t hard to see why! This past week at MCM London Comic Con Hasbro unveiled a number of new ‘Marvel Legends’ figures, as well as a surprise ‘Star Wars: The Black Series’ reveal that fans are going to go nuts for!
For the Marvel Legends line, we have our first look at figures based on the upcoming ‘Black Panther’ live-action film that releases in February! The movie half of the line consists of Black Panther T’Challa, Erik Killmonger, Nakia, and a Build-A-Figure of Okoye! To complete Okoye, you’ll need to buy these three movie figures as well as comic book style versions of Black Bolt, Namor, and an updated Iron-Man! Hasbro also gave fans our first look at a new Black Knight figure that is releasing next spring! Check out the images below!

For ‘Star Wars’ fans, Hasbro has announced what is almost guaranteed to be an instant sell-out with the new ‘Star Wars: The Black Series’ 6″ scaled Porgs! These new Porg figures will come in two-packs for $5.99 each so that people will be able to amass a small army of these immediately beloved new ‘Star Wars’ creatures when they release next spring!
‘Stranger Things’ Are Afoot At McFarlane
We first heard about McFarlane Toys upcoming 7″ scale ‘Stranger Things’ line a few months back, but this week McFarlane Toys has blown away any and all expectations with the reveal of their new 10″ Demogorgon figure! While it’s slightly taller than the other figures in the line, The Demogorgon is still fully in scale with everyone else and features over 12 points of articulation! The Demogorgon will be releasing next February for $34.99, while the other 7″ scale figures in the line (which include Eleven, Hopper, Dustin, and Lucas so far) are set to release even sooner! The team at Super7 has a treat for all of you ‘ALIEN’ fans on this spectacularly spooky holiday! Launching today on Halloween 2017, Super7 is releasing a new 18″ Alien Warrior figure in a special “acid green” color scheme! The figure may just be a new colorway of an already fantastic figure, but with its special translucent green color scheme with silver highlights, it’s definitely going to stand out among your collection! The only downside is the massive price tag of $195, but it seems a small price to pay for what is sure to be a truly unique limited edition piece! Check out the full release info from Super7 below!

Something sinister is stirring on LV-426…… WARNING!…ALIENS are here! The iconic 1979 science fiction thriller ALIEN launched not only a new franchise of space-terror, but created one of the most amazing toys ever made! The infamous 1979 Kenner Alien giant-sized action figure captured the imagination of a generation – many of whom never even saw the nightmare-inducing film!

Get ready for the Funko Forecast! This is where we’re going to be showcasing all of the cool new announcements and reveals from Funko! With all of the awesome that consistently seems to be flowing out of those guys, it shouldn’t be hard to keep this section alive each and every week!
“When There’s Something Strange In Your Neighborhood…”
Unless you’re living under a rock, you’re probably well aware that an all-new season of Netflix’s ‘Stranger Things’ recently hit the air and the fanbase is going nuts! It seems like Season 2 is going to be just as big a hit as Season 1, and to celebrate accordingly the team at Funko have announced a whole new wave of ‘Stranger Things’ POP! Vinyls that are literally already on their way to stores now! Series 3 of Funko’s ‘Stranger Things’ includes new versions of Joyce and Eleven, plus Ghostbuster versions of Dustin, Mike, Will, and Lucas, and our first ever POP! of Max! We’re also getting a Hot Topic exclusive version of Max in her Halloween costume (which is literally a ‘Halloween’ costume of Michael Meyers!). These are already hitting stores, so happy hunting! 
Saga Comes To Funko!
Speaking from personal experience, I don’t think I have ever seen another line reveal get such a massive popular response as this one has! Many people have been saying “I don’t buy POP! Vinyls, but I’d buy these and kind of feel like I need to buy them” And with good reason! What’s the big deal, you ask? Funko has officially announced an all new line of POP! Vinyls based on Brian K. Vaughn’s fan favorite ‘Saga’ comic book series! The first wave of ‘Saga’ POP! Vinyls include Alana, Marko, Prince Robot IV, Lying Cat, and The Will! There will also be a chase variant ‘Bloody’ The Will available, plus retailer exclusives like Izabel (Hot Topic), Bloody Lying Cat (Previews Exclusive, check your local comic shops!), and Pink Lying Cat (Barnes and Noble)! These are set to release later this winter!
Entertainment Earth Has “The Lion King’ Flocked And Loaded
Our friends over at Entertainment Earth have announced two wonderful new exclusive POP! Vinyls that are sure to have Disney fans excited! Entertainment Earth is excited to announced new exclusive Flocked versions of fan favorites Simba and Rafiki! Vinyl Figure will bring a smile to any Disney fan. Packaged in a window display box, The Lion King Simba Leaf Mane Flocked Pop! Vinyl Figure #302 and The Lion King Rafiki with Baby Simba Flocked Pop! Vinyl Figure #301 measure approximately 3 3/4-inches tall.
Simba is flocked in both figures but Funko paid a lot of attention to detail and only flocked the appropriate areas. So the leaves are not flocked in the Simba with Leaf Mane.
In the Rafiki with Simba, Simba is flocked and Rafiki is flocked except for Rafiki’s face, hands, and feet since those are not hairy areas on mandrills.
Don’t Throw Off His Groove!
As if Disney fans weren’t already getting a treat with exclusive new ‘Lion King’ POP! Vinyls, the team at Funko had to put some icing on the cake by announcing a whole new wave of POP! Vinyls based on ‘The Emporers New Groove’! Figures in this set include Kuzco, Pacha, Kronk, and Yzma (who has a glow-in-the-dark chase variant!). There will also be a Llama version of Kuzco available exclusively at Hot Topic when these hit stores in February 2018!
