wonder woman etta candy

Lucy Davis’ Etta Candy wasn’t in ‘Wonder Woman’ for very long, but in her brief appearances, she managed to steal the show with her comedic banter.  Etta worked as Steve Trevor’s (Chris Pine) secretary, a concept that Diana (Gal Gadot) doesn’t comprehend.  Shortly afterward, Etta takes Diana clothes shopping, but the Amazon warrior doesn’t see the practicality of such cumbersome and at times, restraining garments.  Etta also ended a back alley brawl between Diana and Steve and the spies sent to capture or kill Captain Trevor.  After the bulk of the film, Etta joins Diana to lament the tragic events of the climactic battle.

If you didn’t get enough of the sardonic Ms. Candy in the film, you’re in luck as she will be featured in a couple of bonus features on the Blu-Ray release of the film, which comes out in September.

In this clip, Etta opens up her scrapbook to reminisce about her initial meeting with Diana Prince and the events that followed.  Davis’ comedic charm is on full display.  (Davis’ most iconic role was as Dawn, the female lead in the original British version of ‘The Office’.)  Enjoy this look back at Etta’s adventures with Wonder Woman.

Davis will also be featured in an epilogue called ‘Etta’s Mission’ which is describe: “Etta Candy gets the boys back together for a secret mission that could impact humanity’s future.”

While promoting ‘Wonder Woman’, Davis discussed her character saying:

“One of the great things that Etta gets to do is work with Steve Trevor is because Steve is not your typical man, in that he does entrust her with things that in 1918 probably wouldn’t have been entrusted to a secretary of somebody who is quite important.  As you see in the movie, she has been entrusted with the mission that they are secretly on.”

If you want more Etta — not to mention the rest of this summer’s biggest hit — ‘Wonder Woman’ will be available on digital on August 29 and on DVD and Blu-Ray September 19.
