star-wars-adventuresDisney has just penned a deal with IDW Publishing to let the comic publisher bring us the ‘Star Wars Adventures.’ These new comic books are aimed at a younger generation of readers in an all-ages themed book. We’ll see the title launch in Fall of 2017 and will be part of the “Journey to Star Wars: The Last Jedi” publishing program that has a ton of content lined up for the latter half of this year which is all set to lead into the latest film.

While the new publishing push is to build excitement for the upcoming film, it is evident from the initial artwork that they are going to be covering every time period from the prequel trilogy up through ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens.’

IDW Publishing has shared a long working relationship with Lucasfilm and Disney having been in charge of reprinting ‘Star Wars’ content in a variety of formats in “Micro Collectors Fun Packs” and “award-winning Artist’s Editions.”

Here is what Creative Director of Lucasfilm Publishing Michael Siglain had to say about this freshly inked deal:

Lucasfilm is thrilled to expand our relationship with the talented and creative folks at IDW to bring Star Wars comics to kids. IDW has an incredible pedigree of talent, and we look forward to working with them on the creation of these fun, action-packed adventures that span the entire Star Wars saga.

IDW’s Chief Creative Officer, Chris Ryall added in that:

“IDW has long sought to offer the next generation of comic book fans ample reading choices, and being able to provide Star Wars comics aimed directly at that audience is a massive thrill. Disney has been a great collaborator with us and we’re very excited to delve into this particular corner of the galaxy.

Sounds like Marvel won’t be the only publisher releasing new ‘Star Wars’ comics and that we’re going to have quite a bit to look forward to this Fall leading up to ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi.’

Are you looking forward to checking out ‘Star Wars Adventures?’ As this is an all-aged production is this something that will just be for the kids or that all die-hard fans will enjoy? Share your thoughts below!
