While I wasn’t expecting that Freeform would go too dark with Marvel’s ‘Cloak & Dagger‘ it looks like this behind-the-scenes photo will give us at least one tragic moment in Tandy Bowen’s life. This scene sounds like it will be taking place quite a bit before she meets Tyrone Johnson and they eventually get their powers in another tragic set of circumstances. I should warn you, while the plot piece that is discussed here is hinted at in the synopsis there are quite a few details which you might want to avoid if you plan to go into this without spoilers.
As you can see in the behind-the-scenes photo below there is a pile of pages and some of them include dialogue. It is the transcribed text that stands out as the spoiler.

- Tandy POV – DAD – Car bag (already exploded – Tandy shakes DAD wide and tight & Tandy in frame.
- DAD w/ water up to chin…[Tandy] shaking up Dad, air bag fluctuating, DAD dead.
Clearly, Tandy’s life isn’t going to be that great at all. This is a drastic change from the comics where Tandy and her father are estranged when he left for India. She is at odds with her mother who remarries and is neglected by both of her parents. This could hint that she had a stronger bond with her father in the television series and his death causes her to either become at odds with her mother or just pusher her further into being alone.
We do know that in the synopsis that Tandy’s family is “destroyed by a disastrous storm that uprooted her life” and this looks to be from that specific scene.
