Be ready to go up against the Graboids once again as ‘Tremors 6‘ is coming to your house “on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD in 2018!”
Universal 1440 Entertainment, a production entity of Universal Pictures Home Entertainment will be in charge of the release on this one. Sadly it looks like there isn’t going to be a theatrical release on this one, but I don’t think anyone is going to be too surprised to hear that. The latest installment in the franchise follows the last one with Gummer and his son Travis now working together to investigate a Graboid outbreak. Only, things aren’t quite what they seem as it looks like someone is trying to turn these already deadly creatures into an even more dangerous weapon!
Here is the official synopsis for the film:
Burt Gummer (Michael Gross) and his son, Travis Welker (Jamie Kennedy), find themselves up to their ears in Graboids and Ass-Blasters when they head to Canada to investigate a series of deadly giant-worm attacks. Arriving at a remote research facility in the Arctic tundra, Burt begins to suspect that Graboids are secretly being weaponized, but before he can prove his theory, he is sidelined by Graboid venom. With just 48 hours to live, the only hope is to create an antidote from fresh venom — but to do that, someone will have to figure out how to milk a Graboid!
I’m thinking we’re going to have a few full on B-Movie moments making us all groan once we see what milking a Graboid consists of. It likely isn’t going to be something for the faint of heart.
According to general manager and executive vice president, Universal 1440 Entertainment Glenn Ross:
“This is going to be the craziest, most over-the-top movie in the Tremors saga to date. It takes the franchise’s signature combination of suspense, action, and humor to new explosive heights.”
It also sounds like we might be getting a Michael Bay-esque set of explosions rocking the Graboids from start to finish on this one.
