Zombie fans, video-game fans, and general-horror fans alike have been watching the ‘Resident Evil’ film franchise grow and, pardon the pun, mutate over the last 15 years.  Coming up later this month, audiences will finally get to see how the story ends in Sony’s ‘Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.’  In preparation for the film’s release, Sony has released a new clip for us to enjoy.

Ever since the first ‘Resident Evil’ film was released in theaters back in 2002 (feeling old yet?), Milla Jovovich’s character Alice has been ass-kicking her way through trying to survive a zombie apocalypse that was engineered by the evil Umbrella Corporation.  She must be doing something right: the ‘Resident Evil’ films have grossed over $1 billion worldwide, making them the most successful video-game film-adaptation series ever.

The new film will pick up immediately where the previous one, ‘Resident Evil: Retribution,’ left off: with Alice, alone, returning to where it all started at The Hive facility in Raccoon City, in an attempt to stop Umbrella and the mutant-zombie plague that has enveloped the planet.

Without any further ado, take a look at the clip:

In addition to Jovovich, ‘Resident Evil: The Final Chapter’ also stars Ali Larter, Iain Glen, Shawn Roberts, Ruby Rose, Eoin Macken, William Levy, Fraser James, and Japanese model/TV personality Rola.  The movie is written, produced, and directed by series veteran Paul W.S. Anderson.

‘Resident Evil: The Final Chapter’ debuts in US theaters on January 27, 2017.
