arrowverse-black-lightning-crossover

While the DCEU might be struggling to find its feet on the big screen, the DC TV world has done wonderfully over the last couple of years. With only a few exceptions, there have been many shows that have found homes on televisions and audiences have embraced them. Of course there’s the Arrowverse on the CW with ‘The Flash,’ ‘Arrow,’ Legends of Tomorrow’ and ‘Supergirl,’ but there is also ‘Gotham‘ and ‘Lucifer‘ over on Fox, two shows that are about to receive their own network DC sibling in the form of the new series ‘Black Lightning,‘ should Fox decide to pick up the show based on the pilot episode.

Fans were excited thinking because one of the show’s developers is heavily involved in the ‘Arrowverse,’ there was a chance for more crossovers and world sharing, but now it seems that will not be the case this time around.  While speaking recently to CBR, Arrowverse executive producer Greg Berlanti, who is developing the new series with Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil, made the following statement in regards to the potential for ‘Black Lightning’ crossovers:

“I don’t think so. If we’re lucky enough that that exists, that that show exists, I don’t think those worlds will cross over.”

You never know, though, as originally it was stated that ‘Supergirl’ would not be crossing over and look where we are now. But Fox is a different network than CBS, and ‘Black Lightning’ has not even been picked up yet so it is probably too soon to be already thinking of crossover potential, but it is fun to dream.

Would you be disappointed if ‘Black Lightning’ was another standalone show like ‘Gotham’ and we never got to see its heroes interact with other DC heroes on TV? Or do you think that shows on different networks have no need to cross over? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
