Spider-Man-Homecoming-Vulture-mask1

There is a lot to look forward to in this summer’s ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming‘ film, but aside from the inclusion of the MCU characters like Tony Stark and the chance to see Tom Holland really shine as the titular hero, there is a hidden card that the filmmakers have yet to play, even though we have all suspected it was one they had all along. After all, you do not get an actor like Michael Keaton to play Adrian Toomes, aka The Vulture, without having something really special in mind for the classic winged villain of the wall-crawler, and apparently there is a lot to look forward to from the character, who we have learned very little about from the marketing so far, having only briefly appeared in the trailers we have seen so far.

In the words of Michael Keaton himself:

“… not to give too much away, but interestingly, he is and he isn’t, that character. He’s a really interesting — and more interesting than I thought — villain because there’s parts of him that you go, “You know what? I might see his point.” Really, really. It makes it interesting to play”

One of the only major complaints about the MCU is the lack of deep and satisfying villains in their movies, and if there is a chance that ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ is the film that is able to introduce one of the better ones so far, I am all for it. One of the better comic book villains of the past 20 years has to have been Doctor Octopus from Sam Raimi’s epic ‘Spider-Man 2,’ so it would be great to see another Spidey flick deliver another amazing cinema baddie.

What are your thoughts on the potential of The Vulture in ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming?’ Could he go down as one of the better villains of the MCU? Share your thoughts on the character in the comments section below!
