rings

While ‘Rings‘ was originally set to drop last October, the new release is just under a month away and to celebrate the studio has given us a new poster and trailer for the film! The poster is pretty simple and straight forward as it shows the lead monster from the series, Samara, and a tagline that sums up the plot of all of the films in a single statement. Honestly, this tagline is so fitting that I couldn’t imagine what else they would be able to put on here to make it work.

There has been a long lapse in the franchise with the original installment of this Japanese horror adaptation having dropped way back in 2002 but fans will likely be willing to check it out if they have fond memories and have seen any of the trailers for the upcoming release.

You can check out the poster below:

Honestly, it really is pretty simple marketing here and it works. You get a quick shot of Samara and a tagline that explains the plot of ‘The Ring’ and all of it’s following movements in one simple statement.

Truthfully after his portrayal of The Kingpin in ‘Daredevil’ I just want to see this since Vincent D’Onofrio will be in it. Unfortunately, the new trailer has no sight of him but the trailer does give you what you would expect out of a ‘Ring’ sequel. Watch it below:

A new chapter in the beloved RING horror franchise. A young woman becomes worried about her boyfriend when he explores a dark subculture surrounding a mysterious videotape said to kill the watcher seven days after he has viewed it. She sacrifices herself to save her boyfriend and in doing so makes a horrifying discovery: there is a “movie within the movie” that no one has ever seen before…

You can watch ‘Rings’ (before you die apparently) on the big screen on February 3rd, 2017. Directed by F. Javier Gutierrez and starring Matilda Lutz, Alex Roe, Johnny Galecki, Aimee Teegarden, Bonnie Morgan, and Vincent D’Onofrio.
