Now, if you’re like me, you probably can’t wait to see a new teaser for ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story‘ and also check out the film to see new footage of Darth Vader. Well, we have a teaser we have for you and following that, some spoilerish details on what Darth Vader will be up to in the film. Don’t worry, if you want to go into the film with as few details as possible I’ll have a huge spoiler warning before we get to that.

While Vader’s presence will be brief in the film, the impact of the Sith Lord showing up will be a lasting one.

First, let’s take a look at the new TV spot for the film, shall we? It is called “Jyn and Cassian” so it should be instantly clear as to which characters are being featured here:

Sadly, it is only 46 seconds of footage which is showcasing Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor but it does show exactly how social the two clearly are, which isn’t very. That being said, it is good to see that the two are finding friendship in one another which can only end up being painful if one were to die before the credits role.

So, this is where those wanting to go in blindly should head out as it’s spoiler time!

The scene with Vader will show him having a conversation with Krennic and it ends up being a “heated exchange” which is just prior to the Death Star firing on Jedha. This is actually a spiritual moon with a strong connection to the Force which is clearly one of the reasons Vader won’t be happy with what is going on. The Sith Lord wants to “discuss the reason why they shouldn’t force their hand until the right time” as Vader wants to wait to use the weapon while Krennic wants to show off what it can do to Palpatine.

We don’t know if there will be more of Vader outside of this sequence but one would hope so as it is likely the last time we’ll see him in a live action film unless he is included in any of the other standalone films which almost seems unlikely at this point.

Thankfully, he is still a major player in ‘Star Wars: Rebels‘ so this won’t be the last time we have a chance to see Darth Vader for fellow fans of the show.

Are you hoping we’ll see more of Darth Vader or do you think this is the last we’ll see him on the big screen? Share your thoughts below!
