ash-vs-evil-dead

While Starz’ ‘Ash vs Evil Dead‘ has been a runaway hit for the network it seems like an endgame might be in sight if you ask Bruce Campbell. The Chin himself loves the character and seems to want to play Ash for five seasons of the series and thinks that is the right number to aim for. With how well the show has flown into an action-packed second season in the first episode it does seem like they have the right magic to keep ‘Ash vs Evil Dead’ going for awhile, hopefully, it’ll be at least the five seasons that Campbell is aiming for.

“I’m delighted with Ash. He’s officially the best character that I’ve ever played, and it’s one that I’m going to investigate and explore until they tell me I can’t do it anymore. I find Ash, with all of his flaws, all his foibles, all his mistakes, so wonderfully human that it’s hard for me to relate to superhero movies.”

The reason being is that superheroes who are alien or have godly powers “gets old” and he feels that it is “hard for [him] to care” about them. While Ash tends to go up against enemies with otherworldly abilities, he himself is just a man.

For how long he wants to play the character?

“I’ll take five! I’ll take five seasons of this. Give the fans a big boost of the material; they’ll have 25 fresh hours of the show after this after we’re done [with five seasons], and that’s like making 12 movies!”

Campbell feels that TV is a “better deal for fans” and these days with ongoing story arcs that last an entire season or longer it is hard to argue that.

Are you happy that we may have ‘Ash vs Evil Dead’ for five seasons if Bruce Campbell gets his way? Share your thoughts below!
