As always, Marvel does know how to hype up one of its movies, and unlike many other studios, the MCU films more often than thought do manage to live up to the hype. Especially after this year where there was major promotional efforts for ‘Captain America: Civil War,’ which delivered and then some when it finally premiered in May. Now the whiz-kids are onto ‘Doctor Strange,’ which they have done a lot of work marketing in recent months with trailers and promos. Now that we are getting closer to the November release date though, they are finally starting to release some featurettes about the film, which are both setting the stage for the movie and filling in some of the knowledge gaps for fans of the MCU who may not know much about the Sorcerer Supreme. Check out the video for yourself below which explores the origins of Stephen Strange.

While the video does have some moments that we have already seen (especially the ‘Inception’-esque shots), it is actually really fun to see all of the magic and how they are wielding it in the film, and I for one, as a long-time Strange fan, am pretty happy that they are keeping to the story about him losing the use of his hands, as sometimes they change things like that when they get to the movie for the sake of expediency. What are your thoughts on the new video? Was there any information there about Strange that you did not already know? Did it spark any new fan theories about what the movie’ s plot might entail? Feel free to share any opinions or theories about the film in the comments below!

And here’s the official synopsis:

From Marvel comes “Doctor Strange,” the story of world-famous neurosurgeon Dr. Stephen Strange whose life changes forever after a horrific car accident robs him of the use of his hands. When traditional medicine fails him, he is forced to look for healing, and hope, in an unlikely place—a mysterious enclave known as Kamar-Taj. He quickly learns that this is not just a center for healing but also the front line of a battle against unseen dark forces bent on destroying our reality. Before long Strange—armed with newly acquired magical powers—is forced to choose whether to return to his life of fortune and status or leave it all behind to defend the world as the most powerful sorcerer in existence. Join Strange on his dangerous, mystifying, and totally mind-bending journey when Marvel’s “Doctor Strange” opens in U.S. theaters on November 4, 2016.
