Following the events of ‘Captain America: Civil War’, the Avengers are disassembled and Iron Man is short a few friends. Although, he’s already started making new ones. After introducing himself to Peter Parker ahead of his battle with Steve Rogers earlier this year, Tony Stark will be appearing in ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ to presumably continue mentoring the young web-slinger. But beyond the budding relationship with Spidey, the genius/billionaire/playboy/philanthropist may be seeking out companions on another realm very soon.
MCU Exchange recently highlighted a tweet from ‘Doctor Strange‘ star Benedict Wong posted this week that says production on the Sorcerer Supreme’s introduction into the Marvel Cinematic Universe had wrapped. However, director Scott Derrickson posted a similar tweet on April 3rd that said the same thing. What could have been the reason to go back over four months later to continue shooting? Though it’s fairly common for reshoots to occur on any major blockbuster, the outlet reports that they were ordered in this particular case to insert Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark into the upcoming Phase Three film. While there are currently no details regarding Stark’s involvement in Strange’s affairs, I’m sure that there are more than a few True Believers that hope Downey and Benedict Cumberbatch recreate this scene on the big screen:
On a more serious note, it’s not that farfetched that Stark would cross paths with Strange. With ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ set to bring the many heroes of the MCU together, they were bound to meet eventually. Plus, since Tony is notoriously curious about everything, I’m sure that he would want to get to the bottom of all that crazy stuff going on in the recent ‘Doctor Strange’ trailers. Even though he can find a scientific answer for just about anything, it’ll be great to see his mind blown by magic.
What do you think about the possibility of Tony Stark appearing in ‘Doctor Strange’? Are there any classic scenes between Iron Man and the Sorcerer Supreme that you hope they bring to life? Let us know in the comments.
‘Doctor Strange’ starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Tilda Swinton, Rachel McAdams, Michael Stuhlbarg, Benedict Wong, and Mads Mikkelsen emerges on this plane on November 4, 2016.
