‘Star Trek Beyond’ arrives this weekend, but just in case you can’t wait, here is a new clip from the film.  The scene takes place after the destruction of the Enterprise, which was teased in the trailers.  The crew is scattered across an unfamiliar alien world and as strange bedfellows go, the most awkward pairing possible McCoy (Karl Urban) and Spock (Zachary Quinto) find themselves alone as alien forces arrive.

Unfortunately, that long stare between these two characters… I can already see the shipper hashtags.  #McSpock?  #SpockCoy?  I just already know it’s going to happen.  (Is #BoninSpock too on the nose?)

“Star Trek Beyond,” the highly anticipated next installment in the globally popular Star Trek franchise, created by Gene Roddenberry and reintroduced by J.J. Abrams in 2009, returns with director Justin Lin (“The Fast and the Furious” franchise) at the helm of this epic voyage of the U.S.S. Enterprise and her intrepid crew. In “Beyond,” the Enterprise crew explores the furthest reaches of uncharted space, where they encounter a mysterious new enemy who puts them and everything the Federation stands for to the test.

‘Star Trek Beyond’ is directed by Justin Lin and stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoë Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Anton Yelchin, Idris Elba and Sofia Boutella and will beam into theaters on July 22 in the US and UK.
