Leslie Jones is tired of all the ‘Ghostbusters’ bashing, especially when so much of it is because of the all-female cast. And to be honest, it is hard to argue with her. The film is not even out in theaters yet, and yet there is so much negativity about it, and has been from almost day one. Even now, with positive reviews already coming in (currently the film is sitting pretty at 77% on Rotten Tomatoes), there is still a malicious group of internet commenters bashing the film, the cast, and everything about the film, and one cannot help but feel that it is time to give it a chance. I too, was not initially thrilled at the idea of rebooting the franchise (instead of doing a sequel), but after a certain point you just have to give Paul Feig and the his cast a break, especially after all the hard work they have already put in, and how much they have endured at the hands of the franchise’s “fans.”
So it is not surprising to see Jones lash out on social media, and deliver some comments back to the haters, especially those who make the inappropriate comments and harp on the gender-swap of the reboot. Check out her comments for yourself in the Twitter posts below, and then let us know your thoughts on the whole situation in the comments section below that.
