x-men-apocalypse

Early reviews of ‘X-Men: Apocalypse‘ are in and according to their combined scores on Rotton Tomatoes, things aren’t looking good for mutant kind. While audiences may disagree, the current votes have it as the second worst X-Men film to be made. Currently ranking with a 52% score the only movie worse in the ever-growing X-Men universe was ‘Wolverine: Origins‘ which came in at 38%. This could be bad news for Bryan Singer’s last dance as a director for the X-Men movies as all of his other movies vastly outperformed this one.

I’m hoping that once audiences get in to see this that this number changes for the better, mainly because I’m really wanting this to be a good movie.

The breakdown though has the movies ranked as the following:

  • ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ – 91%
  • ‘X-Men: First Class’ – 97%
  • ‘X2: X-Men United’ – 86%
  • ‘X-Men’ – 81%’

Do you know what else is above ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ right now? ‘X-Men: The Last Stand’ at 58%. I really hope these numbers change as I can’t imagine how Singer could make a worse movie than the third ‘X-Men’ outing while introducing us to new characters and after the smashing success of his last one. Even if the movie doesn’t end up as bad as these early reviews suggest, they could turn away enough viewers to make the movie a failure at the box office even if it makes money like ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ did.

Do you think we’re going to be in for ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ spending all of the good will that ‘Deadpool’ earned Fox after the flop of ‘Fantastic Four’ or are these early reviews being too hard on the movie? Share your thoughts below True Believers!

‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ starring Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Ben Hardy, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, Lana Condor, Olivia Munn, and Oscar Isaac opens in theaters on May 27, 2016.
