Thor and the Hulk aren’t in ‘Captain America: Civil War’.  We’ve known that for a while now.  These two characters were absent from the ‘Civil War’ comic book partially because they were so powerful that they’d throw off the balance of power between the two opposing sides.  ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ will explain these characters’ absence from the film version.

You’d think that would be good enough, but according to this video posted by ‘Civil War’ directors Joe and Anthony Russo, that doesn’t appear to be the case with Thunder God Chris Hemsworth.

Watch as Hemsworth works out, slings his hammer (get your mind out of the gutter) and comments on being left out of this superhero free-for-all:

As we know, after ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ Thor returned to Asgard after experiencing nightmarish visions, unlocked by the Scarlet Witch.  These visions tied into the overall storyline involving Thanos and the Infinity Stones, which will be the primary catalyst for ‘Avengers: Infinity War – Part One’, due in 2018.

‘Thor: Ragnarok’ directed by Taika Waititi with a script by Christopher Yost and Craig Kyle stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Mark Ruffalo, Jaime Alexander, Tessa Thompson and maybe Cate Blanchett. It is set to ‘rok theaters on November 3, 2017.

‘Avengers: Infinity War Parts I and II’ are respectively set for release in May of 2018 and 2019.  Both will be directed by the Russo brothers.  So far, the only confirmed stars are Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pratt, Samuel L. Jackson and Josh Brolin.

‘Captain America: Civil War’, also directed by the Russo brothers, does NOT star Hemsworth but arrives in theaters on May 6, 2016.
