Game of Thrones

Fans are anxiously awaiting the April 24th return of ‘Game of Thrones’, which is less than two weeks away.  But with all the questions left lingering after Season Five, the wait has been unbearable.  And HBO is keeping this season completely under wraps, refusing to send critics advance screener copies to review, to prevent spoilers from leaking early.  (‘GoT’ is the most pirated TV series in the world.)

But one fan doesn’t have to wait.  Not wanting to wait for the televised return, he asked and HBO and the show’s producers agreed to provide copies of the new episodes in advance.  Then again, that fan happens to be the most powerful man in the world, President Obama.

Producer David Benioff stated:

“When the commander in chief says, ‘I want to see advanced episodes’ — what are ya gonna do?… he’s the leader of the free world.”

This proved to the producers just how popular the show had become.  Fellow creator D.B. Weiss added:

“I think for both of us — finding out the President wanted advance copies of the episodes — that was an ‘Aha!’ moment.”

John-Bradley-ConanPresident Obama, who is also an admitted comic book fan, made references to ‘GoT’ in jokes at last year’s White House Correspondents’ Association dinner and in an interview with GQ, stated that his favorite character was “…the dwarf, what’s his name?”  (Uh… that would be Tyrion Lannister, played by Peter Dinklage who has won Emmy Awards for his portrayal.)

Well, if you’re not the leader of the free world, we at least have a scene from the Season Six premiere for you.  John Bradley, who plays Samwell Tarly, appeared on ‘Conan’ where he revealed the craziest Jon Snow fan theory he’s heard and also presented a clip of his character and Gilly (Hannah Murray) journeying to the Citadel.

First, here is Bradley’s recounting of a beastly Jon Snow theory:

Now here is the clip that Bradley brought with him, showing his character… well, about to throw up.  Enjoy!

As stated, ‘Game of Thrones’ Season Six kicks off on April 24 on HBO.  The episode is entitled ‘The Red Woman’ and here is a brief synopsis:

Jon Snow is dead. Daenerys meets a strong man. Cersei sees her daughter again.

So… a Direwolf, huh?
