While ‘Terminator: Genisys‘ didn’t capture the hearts of Arnold Schwarzenegger fans, I’m sure many of us can agree that ‘Conan the Conqueror‘ is what we’re really looking forward to and we’ve got new plot details to share with you today! An aging Conan from the world of the classic 1982 ‘Conan the Barbarian’ who has to regain his glory sounds so much more fun than revisiting the tired plot of the ‘Terminator’ franchise. While attending a couple charity events, Schwarzenegger has whet our appetites talking about what we can expect with this ‘Conan’ sequel.

Overall. what we do know is that the main pieces of the plot have been hammered out, a script sounds finalized or nearly so, and the search for a director is on! This means that filming could begin much sooner than anyone had expected.

Here’s what the man himself had to say about it:

“Conan the Conqueror, where I’m sitting on the throne for years and years – decades… and then all of the sudden, the time comes when they want to overthrow me. So that story WILL be told and that movie WILL be done. Yes, as a matter of fact, it (the movie) has been written and we are now looking for directors so this is a serious drive (now for Conan).”

The last we had heard was that the film would be called ‘The Legend of Conan’ and I have to say that this one does grab my attention just a little bit more. While getting on in years, Schwarzenegger still can draw up as an imposing figure and one has hope that The Governator can make sure to get this in while he is still able to pull off an action packed role as it is sadly only a matter of time before his age finishes catching up to him.

I’m curious as to what kind of mess Conan will have fallen into as an elderly ruler. Will he have lost any of his edge by wearing a crown? Has his taste for blood and battle grown to a distant memory from being a statesman and we’ll see him eager to return to battle?
