Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett has been associated with 2017’s ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ which will feature the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s mightiest heroes, Thor and the Hulk , on a cosmic road trip, during the events of ‘Captain America: Civil War’. Blanchett’s role in the film has not been disclosed, but there have been rumblings that she would be playing a villainous role. Many have been wondering if that meant that she would be playing Amora the Enchantress or Hela, Queen of the Underworld.
Mark Ruffalo, the Hulk himself recently spilled that Blanchett was indeed up for an antagonistic role.
“I saw her at the Governor’s banquet here and heard that maybe she was circling, they were talking to her about the part, so I ran up to her and I was like, ‘Please, please, please make this work!’ She’s just one of the best, and to have her play a baddie is going to be really exciting.”
That alone doesn’t peg Blanchett as Hela, but further news about the third ‘Thor’ movie seems to point to that. According to a source, Hela will team with fan-favorite Loki (Tom Hiddleston) in the film, to enact an elaborate scheme. Now this is just a RUMOR at this point. Take this with a grain of salt. But… sounds good, doesn’t it?

‘Thor: Ragnarok’ is currently being rewritten by Stephany Folsom. It will be directed by Taika Waititi. It will star Chris Hemsworth, Ruffalo, Jaimie Alexander and Hiddleston.
