Continuing the wacky promotional efforts for ‘Deadpool’ (aka the Merc with a Mouth), 20th Century Fox is treating fans to a campaign titled ‘The 12 Days of Deadpool‘ which is adding a lot of hilarious insanity to our holidays, and doing an excellent job of getting fans (including yours truly) excited for the upcoming release of the film. First up we have Deadpool’s holiday card, which goes into detail about the crazy year he has had, from crashing (and taking the pulpit) during some random kid’s First Communion Ceremony, to Girl’s weekends in September, one of which was spent coloring pottery to commemorate the first weekend, all the way to spending his fall watching Ryan Reynold’s movies. It’s definitely worth reading it all the way through, so check it out below:
Also part of the ’12 Days of Deadpool’ celebration was the release of a full set of emojis for ‘Deadpool,’ showing off his full range of emotions, plus his hands and katana as well as a handful of emojis dedicated to his “frenemies” Colossus and The Blind Man. They are definitely pretty cool looking, and a great idea for a company looking for out of the box ideas to promote a character known for breaking the 4th wall and inserting himself into random pop culture. Check out all of the emojis (underneath), and then share your comments on the campaign in the comments below!
And make sure to check out the synopsis of the film below!
Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
Directed by Tim Miller, ‘Deadpool’ stars Ryan Reynolds, T.J. Miller, Gina Carano, Morena Baccarin, Ed Skein, Andre Tricoteux, and Brianna Hildebrand and will hit theaters on February 12, 2016.
