If you had told us a few years ago that ‘Daredevil‘ would become one of Marvel Studios most popular properties, I don’t think many people would have believed you. But here we are in the fall of 2015, just a few months after the premiere of the first season of Marvel’s ‘Daredevil’ television series on Netflix. The series launched to rave reviews from critics and fans alike. Now fans are counting down the days until ‘Daredevil’ Season 2 premieres next spring. This weekend at New York Comic Con 2015, Marvel and Netflix held a panel to talk about the upcoming second season of the show!

The panel itself was led by Marvel Television head honcho Jeph Loeb, who excitedly opened the panel with “I know I am going to get in trouble for this later, but I feel like I have to do this… ladies and gentleman, for the first time together, I give you The Defenders!”. The crowd roars as Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter, and Mike Colter (who are playing Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage resepectivly) step out onto stage for a moment before disappearing again behind stage. Loeb owns the room with a glowing presence, clearly having a huge passion for the work he does bringing these heroes to life.

The panel itself is made up of much of the series cast like Charlies Cox (Matt Murdock, Daredevil), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), Debra Ann Woll (Karen Page), and Season 2 newcomers Elodie Yung (Elektra), and John Berenthal (Frank Castle, The Punisher). Also on hand for the panel were series producer Joe Quesada, writers Douglas Petrie and Marco Ramirez.

Quesada, who formerly worked on the ‘Daredevil’ comic series, opens with some deep feelings for the character, saying “I wouldn’t be where I am without this Character, he means so much to me, and these people are doing an amazing job. I couldn’t have drawn it any better than this show”. The whole cast speaks about their roles on the show and how it has changed their lives since it’s premiere, while the newcomers to the series Yung and Berenthal discuss their plans to bring these characters to life in the way that fans deserve.

They play a quick sizzle reel of clips and action sequences from the first series, showcasing some of the best fan favorite moments. Once that reel ends fans are treated to our first taste of Season 2, which you can see for yourself here!

Punisher and Elektra look to be playing big roles this season, while Wilson Fisk, who served as Season One’s big bad, is nowhere to be seen. Only time will tell if Fisk will play a role in the events of ‘Daredevil’ Season 2.

Season 2 of Marvel’s ‘Daredevil’ is set to hit Netflix in its entirety next spring! In the meantime, Season One is still available for streaming now, so you have plenty of time to rewatch the entire run and freshen up before then!
