Despite an earlier report that the next ‘Prometheus’ would not include the sharp-toothed monsters from the ‘Alien’ franchise, that seems to have been outright dismissed as the next film will be entitled ‘Alien: Paradise Lost’. Scott previously explained that he planned to explore the creation of the hideous creatures and offered some insight into how he perceived the aliens:
“The whole point of it is to explain the Alien franchise and to explain the how and why of the creation of the Alien itself. I always thought of the Alien as kind of a piece of bacterial warfare. I always thought that that original ship, which I call the Croissant, was a battleship, holding these biomechanoid creatures that were all about destruction.”
While promoting his latest flick, ‘The Martian’ Scott did pause for a moment to expand on the title for his upcoming film. You can watch the clip below:
As Scott stated in the clip, the film is thus named because:
“Well, because we’re heading back to why and how and when the beast was invented. We’ll go back into the back door of the very first Alien that I did thirty years ago.”
‘Prometheus’ offered some background, but it appears that Scott really wants to go back and see the exact point where these monsters originated.
Are you intrigued by the mystery behind these slime-drooling beasts? Or have we had enough ‘Alien’ movies already?
