Marty McFly is lucky to have the Delorean to get around in.  If he had to rely on commercial airlines, he might have a problem, as rapper Wiz Khalifa discovered on Saturday when he was forcibly wrestled to the ground and handcuffed at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) for what is surely the first time anyone has gotten in trouble for a new infraction– riding a hoverboard!

Yeah, those are real!  And not welcome at LAX, which the ‘Black and Yellow’ rapper found out before he nearly ended up black and blue!  After returning from a tour in Europe, Khalifa jumped on his new technology which didn’t go well as airport security quickly pounced.  The incident was captured by witnesses’ camera phones and the rapper attests that he complied with the (approximately) six guards’ orders, despite their forcible reactions.  In one video, Khalifah exclaims, “We can have all the conversations you want to. You can end up on TMZ, destined to become as famous as you wanna be.”

He took to social media to vent his frustrations including videos.  (CAUTION: Parental advisory, explicit language):

Khalifa later followed up stating that he may be developing his own line of hoverboards:

It does not appear that Khalifa was charged with any crime and LAX has not issued a statement on the incident.

So hoverboards are real.  With future tech comes great responsibility.  Hover with care!
