If you thought that you’d seen it all on television than you’re in for a treat as Destination America is planning to the first live on air exorcism on October 20th, 2015 on a special titled ‘Exorcism: Live!’. Perfect for your pre-Halloween preparation the event will take place to try and cleanse “the original Exorcist House” which is located outside of St. Louis. In the house, exorcisms were performed on Roland Doe and the event will debut on the 66th anniversary of one of these exorcisms. For those unfamiliar with Doe, his exorcisms were the inspirations for the horror classic ‘The Exorcist.’

I don’t know if you consider this “all-American entertainment” as the network is trying to portray it or to capitalize on the holiday but you can bet that there will be plenty of eyes tuning in.

Fans of ‘Ghost Asylum’ will be thrilled as the Tennessee Wraith Chasers will be on hand as well as psychic medium Chip Coffeey. The cast and crew will be using “state of the art technology to do daytime and nighttime investigations” to attempt finding evidence of demonic entities.

No word on how it will all be airing live yet there will be a daytime portion of the investigation when it is being featured at 9pm ET.

Exorcisms have previously been aired on national television though this is the first time that one has been performed live. Most prominently in the past 20/20 aired 26 minutes of a six-hour exorcism in 1991 in a case that Barbara Walters was following. While there had previously been a slew of exorcist films that had done well at the box office, there haven’t been many as of late and showing a live one could be an interesting, if most likely uneventful, way to fill that void until Robert Kirkman’s ‘Outcast‘ premieres.
