Despite there not being a new trailer, ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ managed to make quite an impact at Comic Con this year, with a lengthy behind-the-scenes video that gave fans a peak behind the proverbial curtain at some of the work that goes into the magic of the movies.  And their panel over all was a crowd-pleaser.  Did you think there couldn’t be any more Jedi goodness this summer?

Well, it’s not Alderan-shattering (too soon?) , but new images have emerged that give fans their first good look at Carrie Fisher, reprising her defining role as Princess Leia in the new movie.  The first is a basic image from an undisclosed scene, while the second shows Fisher conferring with director J.J. Abrams.

Sorry, no gold bikini.

Fisher may not be the fanboy pinup she was in 1982, but all things considered, she looks pretty good!  Must be The Force.  (I hear Kim Kardashian used the same Force.  He has an office in Beverly Hills.)  Her clothing resembles the Rebel military uniforms from the first movies, so it appears that she is still heavily involved with the organization, even following the fall of the Empire.  The setting could be that of a Rebel stronghold, so that reinforces that idea.

Of the original characters, Leia’s role in the new movies hasn’t really been discussed.  What would you like to see the Rebel leaders accomplish?

‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ will awaken audiences on December 18th, 2015, so Force yourself away from all the holiday festivities and check it out.
