Although Steven Speilberg‘s ‘Robopocalypse‘ has been postponed, we’ve got the first pieces concept art to share with you! The film based on Daniel H. Wilson’s best-selling novel was announced in 2013 but has been indefinitely put on hold. Between an apparent budget issue and a weak script by Drew Goddard (‘Cabin in the Woods,’ ‘Daredevil‘), the movie has been put on hold. This was a huge surprise as not only was ‘Robopocalypse’ slated to begin filming in 2013 but it had Chris Hemsworth (‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’,’Ghostbusters’), Anne Hathaway (‘Interstellar‘,’The Dark Knight Rises’), and Ben Whishaw (‘Skyfall’,’Cloud Atlas‘) signed up to star.

An artificial intelligence created by the government which escapes from being deleted and creates a robot uprising to eradicate humanity? This is a piece of science fiction that seems right up Speilberg’s alley so it’s a shame to see that with such a great cast the movie in on hold. I’m sure with already two years of a delay and no sign of being filmed in sight that the cast will completely change if this ever does see the light of day.

If you are wondering what kind of a look the film might have ad though you’re in luck! We’ve got the first promotional art for what could have been to share below!

Looks good! Unfortunately there is no indication on when this concept art might actually end up being shown on the big screen.
