Mulder and Scully are set to return early next year and Chris Carter has released the first real batch of photos from ‘The X-Files‘ that are worth checking out! It has been 8 years since we’ve last seen our favorite investigators into the paranormal and while Mulder looked quite disheveled in the first teaser image he seems slightly better here. Though, he isn’t quite rocking his traditional suit yet which makes me believe that he may not be an agent or at least on duty when the series ramps back up.

First up we have a shot of David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprising the roles that made them famous as Mulder and Scully!

Next up is a shot of Anderson again but this time she’s speaking with Annet Mahendru. When the show returns we’ll see Mahrendu as Sveta. Sveta is under the impression that she is quite regularly abducted by aliens and one has to wonder if she is delusional or if this is a new lead on alien encounters.

Next up we have a look at Gillian Anderson, Joel McHale, and David Duchovny. McHale is the unlikely supporter of the duo as he is a conservative talk show host that asks them to look into a paranormal matter for him. Apparently this will end up with him being a supporter of the pair.

Here we have two more shots of Annet Mahendru’s character. I would like to point out that Sveta is not being abducted by aliens in either one of these photos.

Here is a shot on location for the filming of where Sveta will be living. It seems like the perfect little house to get shaken on screen at night with flashing lights while an alien abduction happens either in the middle of the episode or at the very end after everyone has been convinced that she isn’t telling the truth.

This next one is fun as it is a shot from the pilot episode titled ‘My Struggle’. Will this be Mulder’s struggle with what his life has become between the last film and now or will it be a focus on Mulder and Scully’s first case back together?

Here is a behind the scenes shot that shows Chris Carter at a production meeting.

Finally for a purely promotional shot here is a look at the pair on the cover of the upcoming Entertainment Weekly where these shots and more new details will be found in when its released!

There you have it folks the latest images to whet your appetite on things to come. We’re under a year away from the six episode mini-season and I can’t wait for it to air!

Are you as excited to see ‘X-Files’ return to the small screen as I am? Will this be the start of something wonderful or will these six episodes be the final swan song to the series? Share your thoughts below!
