Have you ever experienced déjà vu? It’s the sensation where you think that you’ve experienced something before. And if you haven’t before, then it seems like you definitely will when Alan Taylor’s ‘Terminator Genisys‘ comes out next month when the next chapter of the ‘Terminator’ story messes with the timeline a bit for a reboot/sequel to James Cameron’s iconic sci-fi thriller. And to prepare for the impending war with the machine, the studio has released some new promotional material featuring slightly different versions of familiar characters.

First, the legendary Arnold Schwarzenegger comes face to face with himself when he recreates a scene from 1984 where the T-800 goes back in time. However, as we’ve seen in some trailers, this plays out a little differently than we remember when an older, friendlier, yet still deadly Terminator crashes the party. You can check out the clip below followed by the official synopsis of the film:

When John Connor, leader of the human resistance against Skynet, sends Kyle Reese back to 1984 to protect his mother, Sarah, from a Terminator assassin, an unexpected turn of events creates an altered timeline. Instead of a scared waitress, Sarah is a skilled fighter and has a Terminator guardian by her side. Faced with unlikely allies and dangerous new enemies, Reese sets out on an unexpected new mission: reset the future.

Paramount also released a plethora of new pictures from their upcoming blockbuster including a number of stills from the film and some behind the scenes images featuring director Taylor and his crew working with the star-studded cast. You can see a few of the images in the gallery below:
