I’m not going to lie but this ‘Jurassic World‘ featurette feels like we’ve gone back to everything good about the first movie. Not only do we have amazing new and previously seen footage from ‘Jurassic World,’ but also some amazing voice overs from the cast and crew on what we can expect when we see the film. This is the featurette clearly aimed at my generation who saw the original on the big screen and has been in awe of its beauty ever since.
The best part, though, is the voice over at the beginning from Richard Attenborough’s John Hammond. It really brought things home from someone who watched the original ‘Jurassic Park‘ in a way that the two sequels never had been able to. I didn’t actually think that I could get more excited for this movie until this featurette was released, so let’s take a quick look:
Now that is truly how to sell the film! It ties into the original while allowing it to stand on its own two legs. Steven Spielberg claims that “to see ‘Jurassic World’ come to life is like seeing ‘Jurassic Park’ come true” and with the more we’ve seen, the more I can believe it to be true.
This film really is seeing Hammond’s vision from the first film having not only come to life but be successful. That is of course, until that vision decides to get changed by tampering even further with genetic engineering.
