Last month, Stephen Amell traded in his bow and arrow for a golf bag filled with bats, pipes, and other weapons to join the sequel to last year’s ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles‘ reboot starring Megan Fox and produced by Michael Bay as Casey Jones, a heroic companion of the heroes in a half shell. However, new rumors have emerged that say that the ‘Arrow’ star’s character isn’t the only classic TMNT fan favorite appearing on the New York City set of ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2.’
Sources close to the production say that the villainous warlord Krang will be making his live action debut in ‘TMNT 2.’ It has been said that he made his first appearance on set as recently as last week along with a number of extras and a portal of some kind, which could be how the brain-like creature got to our planet.
Created for the 80s animated series, General Krang came to Earth from Dimension X with his Rock Soldiers army and his high-tech base known as the Technodrome. Krang was also a frequent ally of Shredder in his mission to take down Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael.
Previously, Krang was set to appear alongside Bebop and Rocksteady in the first film, but as we saw, they didn’t make it into the final cut. Since then, the two popular henchmen have been confirmed for the upcoming sequel, so there is a good chance that General Krang will pop up as well. It’s possible that their storylines intertwine, which explains why all three were cut in the first place. With two of them already appearing, does that automatically mean that the third will as well? Time will tell.
Do you hope that Krang does in fact appear in ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2’? Are there any other classic TMNT characters that you hope will pop up in this series eventually? Let us know in the comments below.
‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2’ starring Megan Fox, Stephen Amell, Laura Linney, and Brian Tee hits theaters on June 3, 2016.
