I was a huge fan of the original ‘Poltergeist‘ and while I hate remakes with a passio,n I can’t help but admire how the new take on this classic has come together. Not only do we have two new clips from the film to share with you today but also an infographic that explains what exactly poltergeist are compared to other demons and ghosts that are out there.
First up is a trailer that was released by Fox UK that shows the young girl Madison talking to her family’s television in a scene that will be quite familiar to anyone who is a fan of the original film. While her brother might think this is strange, she lets him know that something is coming.
The second clip is also from the UK and makes sure to tell us that “this doesn’t seem to be a classic haunting!”
Legendary filmmaker Sam Raimi (“Spiderman,” “Evil Dead”, “The Grudge”) and director Gil Kenan (“Monster House”) contemporise the classic tale about a family whose suburban home is haunted by evil forces. When the terrifying apparitions escalate their attacks and hold the youngest daughter captive, the family must come together to rescue her before she disappears forever.
I love the cast and just about any film that Sam Raimi is attached to so with my hatred of reboots, I’m coming into this with very mixed feelings. Still, I’m willing to give this one a chance and hopefully this will be one of those few remakes that are actually worth my box office dollars.
