The 2014 fall TV season saw an unprecedented number of comic book-based series hit prime time.  Not only were ‘The Walking Dead,’ ‘Arrow,’ and ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,’ but they were joined by newcomers ‘The Flash,’ ‘Gotham,’ and ‘Constantine.’  Of these additions, ‘The Flash’ was an instant smash, ‘Gotham’ has captivated with its dark grittiness, but ‘Constantine’, based on the DC/Vertigo series ‘Hellblazer’ seemed to stumble.  Not only was the show overhauled after the pilot was shot, it seemed to take a while to find its footing.  But once it got up and running, loyal fans found themselves caught up in the supernatural exploits of John Constantine (played by Matt Ryan) and his allies Zed (Angelica Ceyala) and Chas (Charles Halford).

But as is the case with genre shows, the budget for ‘Constantine’ eclipses those of more mainstream hourly dramas that don’t need extensive special effects and therefore can deliver a larger profit even with fewer viewers.  Though ‘Conatantine’ has done decently in ratings, the high budget could weigh it down, as NBC decides what series will be returning next fall.

But if you are a fan, you could actually have the power to save ‘Constantine’!

Series creator Daniel Cerone tweeted the big news that the entire first season is available for streaming this weekend on Hulu and NBC.com:

Apparently, NBC will be paying close attention to the streams ‘Constantine’ generates as they plan to make a final decision on whether or not to renew the show for a second season on Monday April 27!

If you want to see more of this series, do your part and binge as much of it as you can this weekend.  It could make all the difference!
