The breakout CW hit ‘Arrow’, based on DC Comics’ character Green Arrow/Oliver Queen returns for its third season Wednesday October 8th and things will be going in all kinds of new directions. Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) steps up as a full-fledged hero himself, as Arsenal. Brandon Routh, the former film Superman, joins the cast as Ray Palmer, a character who in the comics is the size-shifting Atom. There have even been hints that Laurel (Katie Cassidy) may take over her sister Sarah’s role as Black Canary.
Last season, we saw “The Hood” become “The Arrow” and the producers have teased that eventually he will become the actual Green Arrow. Is this the season where we will see that evolution?
To pump you up for the next season, a blooper reel has been released, which is also available on the DVD/BluRay as a bonus feature. It features the entire cast, cracking up and flubbing their lines… oh and working out shirtless. (Because it’s ‘Arrow’.) You can check it out below:
That was then, now let’s take a look forward. In addition to the video clip, The CW has also released several images from the first episode of the new season, entitled “The Calm” (presumably, “before the storm”). You can catch the returning cast, including Haynes in full Arsenal mode, as well as Routh coming aboard.
