If you’ve already had a chance to binge on the first Netflix Marvel series ‘Daredevil‘ you have probably been dying to find out more information on the second season. While there isn’t anything in the way of true spoilers here Charlie Cox has opened up as to what he’d like to see on the series as well as mentions how the second season might affect ‘The Defenders’ crossover series.

While he doesn’t give away specifics on what we will see as the script is nowhere near finished this is what he would like to see:

Based on the show we’ve created, which is very grounded in reality, I’d like to see Punisher maybe show up, a little bit of Elektra maybe. I wouldn’t mind Black Widow making an appearance, and you can’t think about Daredevil for too long without thinking of Bullseye. I don’t know when or if or how that would happen, but it’d be cool if it did.

Honestly Elektra is almost a given having been teased slightly in the first season. With Marvel owning the cinematic rights to ‘Punisher’ I really do believe Frank Castle would make a great fit for the network with what we’ve seen so far. Also, a cameo or couple episode run could be a great introduction to test the waters. While I’m not sold on Black Widow being the right fit for the show at this time I would be shocked if we aren’t introduced to Bullseye in some form or another.

As we didn’t have filming dates for ‘The Defenders quite yet but it was supposed to take place after all of the stand alone series a renewal shouldn’t push that back at all. In fact here is what Cox believes the shooting schedule could look like.

We’ll begin shooting in the second half of the year. It’ll be the same timeline as the last show, so season two will come out about this time next year. Again, I’m imagining all this, but there’ll probably do Iron Fist or Luke Cage at the same time, followed by the other one [of the two] in the first half of 2016 and then maybe Defenders in the second half of 2016 or the beginning of 2017.

If Daredevil and the rest of The Defenders do end up in the ‘Avengers: Infinity War‘ films this could be an extremely busy few years for all of them. If the other stand alone series are anywhere near as good as ‘Daredevil’ was I think that we’re all going to be in for a huge treat for years to come.
