We’ve been eagerly awaiting for more details on Fox’s upcoming ‘Deadpool‘ movie and Ryan Reynolds (‘Green Lantern’,’R.I.P.D.’) shares a bit on the budget and what we can expect from it. While most actors would be annoyed about being stuck with a lower budget, Reynolds seems to be the exact opposite. After we all had a chance to see the test footage from the film though I’m sure that most of us have felt the same way. I’m sure that the highly stylized look that Tim Miller used in ‘Zombieland’ will only work to ‘Deadpool’s advantage when its released.

When talking about the film’s budget Reynolds says that:

“It’s been a long time, but it’s happened in the right way and that’s all that matters. We don’t have the kind of money that most superhero movies do, but that’s great, actually. Necessity is the mother of invention, and that’s why we get to make the movie we want to make.”

Reynolds mentioned that the test footage should have gotten leaked earlier. I’m sure the mass audience approval is what helped push Fox over the edge to finally green lighting the movie to go forward.

“I would have FOX’s lawyers so far up my ass they could smell Wade Wilson’s feet. No, no, no I didn’t leak it. But I would have. Looking back now, in a heartbeat. I should go home and scan the old hard drive and see what I’ve got in there.”

Much like Chris Evans and Ben Affleck before him, this isn’t Reynolds’ first rodeo when it comes to portraying a superhero. With that being the case, he was asked if there was any pressure on returning to another superhero role:

“No, no, no, of course not. You gotta have faith in the people you’re working with, and have faith in the prep, and that’s all I’m doing. On this one, the prep’s been 11 years. You’d like to think you’re putting your best foot forward, but we’ll see.”
