Ever since Gavin Hood’s god-awful take on Deadpool in ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’, fans have been clamoring for a rated R solo film featuring Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with a Mouth that takes more cues from the comics. Over the past few years, we learned that ‘Zombieland’ writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick had a script ready to go, Tim Miller had joined the project as the director, and producer Lauren Shuler Donner was working towards making it all happen. We even heard about some epic test footage that Reynolds worked on to show the studio what that would blow fans away. Well, it looks like that clip has finally made its way online for all to see.

The CGI reel begins with Wade Wilson in full Deadpool attire singing Gwen Stefani’s ‘Hollaback Girl’ and breaking the fourth wall. The antihero then goes on to drop in on a car full of thugs and unleashes a brutal, banter-filled attack on them. Basically, it’s everything we could want from a Deadpool movie! While we’ve been seeing leaked video from various panels at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con all weekend, this might just top them all. You can check it out below, but you better watch it fast before Fox takes it down:

As we’ve been told time and again, the major hold up is the film’s rating. For Deadpool to work, it would be absolutely best if the movie were rated R since anything less would probably water down the character. Of course, the budget is probably still going to be an issue no matter what, but maybe after the studio executives see how positively fans respond to this leaked footage, they’ll reconsider their stance and give us exactly what we’ve been hoping for all these years before Ryan Reynolds is too old to play the part.

What do you think of this test footage for ‘Deadpool’? Do you think that Fox is sitting on something way too awesome that should be made right away? Sound off in the comments loud enough for them to hear you!
