It seems the ball is not only rolling, but is starting to pick up speed, and passengers, as Tim Miller’s ‘Deadpool‘ movie with Ryan Reynolds begins to prepare for production. Recent news has the fan-favorite film beginning to search for actors to play supporting roles in the super anti-hero flick, and at the moment, it seems the crew is in talks with Ed Skrein (‘Game of Thrones,”Transporter Legacy’) and T.J. Miller (HBO’s ‘Silicon Valley,’ ‘Big Hero 6‘) for a few of those roles.

‘Game of Thrones’ fans will remember Ed Skrein as the original Daario Naharis, a role he played for one season before leaving to take on the lead role in ‘Transporter Legacy.’ Rumor has it that he is being tapped to play a villain to Reynold’s ‘Deadpool,’ though which one exactly is up for debate. The two leading theories are that he’ll be playing Dr. Emrys Killebrew (the crazy scientist responsible for turning the mutant Slade Wilson into the titular character), or that Skrein will be playing T-Ray, another mercenary in the ‘Deadpool’ world but one who is even more violent and insane than Deadpool.

As for Miller, he’s been around for a while, most recently being seen in ‘Silicon Valley,’ “Transformers: Age of Extinction,’ and playing a voice in Disney’s ‘Big Hero Six.’ Fans are speculating that he’s a shoe-in to play Deadpool’s sidekick Weasel, who provides the man with weapons and intel that helps Deadpool maintain his gig as a mercenary. It would work well to have the two comedic actors play off each-other, especially in the moments their friendship is strained due to Deadpool’s complete insanity.

Hopefully this will all lead up to a nutty, off-the-wall, action packed and energetic movie that, while taking place in 20th Century Fox’s ‘X-Men’ continuity, will be markedly different from the films starring Xavier’s team. With any luck, we will all have a lot to look forward to when the film opens on February 12th, 2016.
