Avalanche Studios’ upcoming ‘Just Cause 3’ just received a plethora of screenshots via a recent screenshot dump.
Ever since its announcement last month via Game Informer cover, there hasn’t been much in the way of gameplay or screenshots showing off what players will be able to do in the newest entry in the long running open-world ‘Just Cause’ game series. But from the looks of the screenshots below, it looks like players will be able to cause a whole lot of explosive mayhem in a variety of creative and flexible over-the-top ways.
Alongside the series’ classic parachute, the grappling hook feature also looks to be putting itself to good use in the screenshots as well, with series protagonist Rico Rodriguez using it to latch on to flying helicopters and even a falling explosive fuel tank. From the looks of it, Rico will be able to access a wide assortment of weapons.
‘Just Cause 3’ takes place several years after the ending of ‘Just Cause 2’, and is set in the fictional Mediterranean archipelago of Medici. This time around, an aged Rodriguez must take down an evil dictator by the name of General Di Ravello, and dismantle the control of his brutal regime over Medici.
It has been nearly four years since a new entry in the ‘Just Cause’ series has been announced. The series itself first started out life back in 2006, when the first entry of the series was released for PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360 and Windows PC. Since then, the ‘Just Cause’ series has garnered a bit of a cult following among gamers, specifically ‘Just Cause 2’, due to its over-the-top open-world gameplay, and modding community adding in additional features, like multiplayer and custom guns and vehicles.
‘Just Cause 3’ is scheduled for release on PS4, Xbox One and Windows PC sometime in 2015.
