Rockstar Games has announced that the upcoming PS4, Xbox One and PC enhanced edition of ‘Grand Theft Auto V’ is going to feature an all-new first person mode.

Always an open-world game series that has utilized third person perspectives, the enhanced edition’s first person mode is an entirely new way of seeing the city of Los Santos in ‘Grand Theft Auto V’ that puts players in the eyes of their character. The mode will be accessible in both the main game as well as ‘GTA Online’ and can be toggled on and off with the touch of a button.

In order to accommodate  the new perspective mode,  Rockstar has added in the ability to create an optional first person cover system, an entirely new targeting system, a more traditional FPS control scheme and thousands of new animations to go along with it in the game.

Different in the enhanced edition of the game is an improved draw distance as well as entirely new HD textures added into the game’s large open-world. There will also be support for 1080p resolution for the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game. The PC version is advertised to support up to 4K  in compatible resolution.

All things considered, the inclusion of a first person mode in ‘Grand Theft Auto V’ looks to be a logical decision what with the performance and cosmetic updates featured in the enhanced edition of the game.  However, despite just being a new way of seeing the game, it certainly looks to give players an entirely new way of playing and experiencing the game, thus altering the vastness of the game’s already rather large size in terms of its map and content.

The enhanced edition of ‘Grand Theft Auto V’ will be coming out on PS4 and Xbox One November 18. The Windows PC version will launch next year on January 27.
