‘Thomas Was Alone’ creator Mike Bithell has announced that Andy Serkis will be playing the main antagonist in his upcoming stealth action game  entitled ‘Volume.’

Bithell announced Serkis’ involvement in ‘Volume via Twitter.

Along with showing a short audio clip of Serkis’ character which can be heard below, Bithell also followed up in appreciation towards the positive feedback with some of his thoughts of what working with Serkis was like on the project.

Just in case you’re a sci-fi/fantasy fan that has been living in a cave all your life, Serkis is known for portraying Gollum in the ‘Lord of the Rings’ films.  However, he has also starred in ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ and ‘The Prestige.’ Serkis’ past work isn’t just constrained to film either as he has also appeared in a fair amount of videogames having done voice work and motion capture for games ‘Heavenly Sword,’ ‘Enslaved: Odyssey of the West’ and ‘Risen.’

‘Volume’ is a modern re-imagining of the ‘Robin Hood’ legend that puts players in the shoes of Robert Locksley, a petty thief that finds a device known simply as “Volume” that allows him to simulate heists as part of a secret attempt at a coup against the government. With the guidance of the device’s artificial intelligence, Locksley uses “Volume” to broadcast simulations of high-profile crimes on to the internet. However, his actions do not go unnoticed as Guy Gisborne, a ruthless CEO of a company that has taken over England, plots to contend his every move.

The game is a stealth game where players must cleverly sneak past enemies using an a variety of different tools at their disposal. It features a rather minimalist geometrical influenced graphical style and sports stealth gameplay that is reminiscent to the VR missions seen in the first ‘Metal Gear Solid.’

‘Volume’ is planned to release sometime in 2015 on PS4, PS Vita, Windows PC and Mac.
