In these latest spy shots captured from the set of ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice‘ we see quite a bit of protesting happening against the ‘Man of Steel.’ In this new round of images, we see that quite a few of Metropolis’s citizens are complaining about his presence in their city.

I’m sure it has nothing to do with how thoroughly he destroyed parts of Smallville as well as Metropolis in the first film, left ruin behind him, and straight up snapped Zod’s neck in the middle of the city. I’m sure they could try to throw all kinds of arguments up, but he did straight up commit murder in front of the world, even if it was justified. Of course, it could just as likely be that people are afraid and angry about Superman because he’s different. With how tolerant our species can be, something new and different is not always welcomed with open arms.

On the flip side this protest could all have been carefully orchestrated by Lex Luthor, we’ll only know so much until the film’s release in a year and a half from now.

You can check out a couple of the preview images from the protests right here.

With slogans such as “Super Death” going on, you would think that the citizens didn’t enjoy being saved from certain death at the hands of General Zod. It’ll be interesting to see what direction they go here.

In early shots from the film we saw what appears to be a monument to Superman. Later we saw it demolished and people ended up paying respect to the fallen monument. At some point the tide will turn from being against Superman to being for him. I suspect we’ll see the statue and protests near the beginning and in saving Metropolis it will be destroyed where people give tribute after.

That is just a theory though.
