In the upcoming release of the 2015 ‘Guinness Book of World Records,’ Jennifer Lawrence will be named as the official highest-grossing action heroine the world has ever known. At 24 years old, that’s quite an honor, but one she clearly deserves.

Lawrence’s incredible career took off back in 2010 when she starred in the dark drama ‘Winter’s Bone,’ where she was nominated for her first Academy award. That was followed in 2013 by her second nomination and win for her role in ‘Silver Linings Playbook.’ And then at the age of 24 she was nominated a third time, for her standout performance in ‘American Hustle.’ Yet, as amazing as these accomplishments are, Guinness is not honoring Lawrence for her dramatic turns, but rather, how successful she has been in the action/ adventure genre.

Which of course refers to her global phenomenon of a franchise ‘The Hunger Games,’ which some will recall was a bit of a risky move for Lionsgate to produce back in 2011. The movie quickly proved to be a hit, driven by Lawrence’s spectacular performance and the rabid fans of Suzanne Collins’ source novels. The sequel, ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ was so successful it became the highest grossest action heroine movie ever, beating out longtime favorites ‘Terminator 2: Judgment Day’ (Linda Hamilton), ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’ (Angelina Jolie), and ‘Aliens’ (Sigourney Weaver). The film also beat out Marvel’s ‘Iron Man 3’ as the highest domestic-grossing film of 2013, launching itself into the #10 spot for the highest grossest films of all time.

On top of the ‘Hunger Games’ films, Lawrence has also starred in a little franchise known as ‘X-Men,’ lighting up the screen as Mystique in the two most recent entries, which critics have loved and fans have seen as a return to form for the once troubled series. It almost seems like she has the golden touch these days, and it’s no wonder Guinness has graced her with the “highest-grossing action heroine the world has ever known” title. And when ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay: Part 1’ opens this fall, I, along with fans around the world, will eagerly fill theaters to see Jennifer Lawrence do what she does best, and enjoy every minute of it.
