One of the coolest things about James Gunn’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy is the incredible amount of detail that went into creating the alien worlds and people. There was definitely an excellent mix of amazing set pieces, practical effects, and CGI that really enhanced the whole cinematic experience. So, to celebrate their triumphant box office run thus far, Marvel Studios has released a series of behind the scenes featurettes showing up various aspects of set, costume, and prop design.

Debuted by the Marvel Entertainment YouTube account, we are able to learn more about the process of building the Guardians’ galaxy before the Blu-ray and DVD even comes out. Previously, we saw Peter Quill himself, Chris Pratt, takes us though his spaceship The Milano, which was named after his childhood crush Alyssa Milano. Now, we have two parts of the featurette known as ‘Gear and Garb of the Galaxy’. Here we take a closer look at the costumes and props utilized by Star-Lord, Gamora, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, and Drax the Destroyer. In the pair of videos below, Prop Master Barry Gibbs, Costume Designer Alexandra Byrne, and Special Make-Up Effects Designer David White all share their parts in creating James Gunn’s vision for this film that so many around the world have come to adore:
